Stokely Cabinet

The process began by drawing on the textural language developed in my jewellery and precious metal practice. This work explores the overlooked elegance of materials typically regarded as utilitarian. The surface mimics topographic maps of regions where exotic timbers—once considered luxurious—have become so widely used that they’re often stripped of their perceived value. By elevating these textures into a more precious context, I aim to reframe the narrative around these woods, drawing attention to their inherent beauty and the fragility that comes with being so easily commodified and over-extracted.

Finished in our trademark ‘Penny Chocolate Brown.’

1.3 × 75 × 55cm
